This 12-year maturing gave Macallan 12 Year Old Double Cask the aromas of two varieties of oak and the sweetness of sherry.

To understand the complexity and nuances of this whisky, The Macallan distillery wanted to compare the development of the precious spirit to that of a guitar by teaming up with Philippe Debreuille, a great manufacturer of custom-made guitars and an expert in wood. He sought to understand and make people understand the importance of the origin and the quality of the wood to achieve a beautiful creation.
