The 2019 Corton Grand Cru is a rich, great wine that announces the vintage in style. Black cherry, plum and lavender are just some of the many uplifted notes in the 2019. This is a particularly dark, almost moody Corton with a healthy dose of uplift across the clusters that gives verve and energy. Notes of incense, dried herbs and gravel melt into the heady finish. The stem influence here is a bit more pronounced than in the other wines, but the overall impression is of a Burgundy that combines elegance and power. Yields were only 15 hectoliters per hectare.
