PETRUS 1983 Pomerol 0.75 Ltr

From the barrel, this remains one of the greatest wines I have ever tasted. Whether fining and filtration removed more than expected, only the owner knows. However, the 1982 Petrus had a strong showing in Philadelphia, unlike other tastings which weren't spectacular. The color reveals a bit of amber on the edge. A soft nose of caramel, grilled herbs, cherry jam, cedar and smoke, thick, full-bodied, this unctuous, low-acid Petrus is approaching full maturity. (R.PARKER)
