There is a kind of magic in each cuvée from Domaine Saint-Patrice and this one is the perfect illustration. The Clos Saint-Patrice is surveyed and delimited by a stone wall like the large Burgundy plots. It is also the one and only true Clos de Châteauneuf-du-Pape. It is part of the revival of the appellation and the least we can say is that this cuvée is probably the one that has marked me the most in recent years. Some sommeliers to whom I had this cuvée tasted nicknamed it the “Future Rayas” and indeed it is one or the greatest potential of the region. Speaking with Samuel Montgermont, he told me that there was a real similarity between Châteauneuf-du-Pape and the great Burgundy wines. This Burgundian influence can be felt even in the glass. The wine is of rare digestibility and magnificent depth. Grenache is king here and it blossoms perfectly. A GREAT wine
