The bouquet, subtle and complex, combines delicate notes of black fruits (blackberry, blueberry) with warmer nuances of sweet spices, prune and mocha. The palate opens with a dense and tight structure; the tannins are certainly powerful but coated by a tender flesh which gives this wine a sappy character. The intense and very long finish leaves no doubt about the majesty of this vintage built to stand the test of time.
