Medium to deep gold in color, the 1989 d'Yquem is a little closed at first, slowly unfolding to give off wonderful aromas of dried mango, pineapple paste and candied peel with hints of praline, nutmeg, lemon butter and crème caramel along with a touch of crushed rocks.
